Young puppies should be handled regularly, at least a couple of times a day. In fact, puppies that are handled each day from birth onward are generally faster to develop, more able to handle stress, and perhaps more social than those that have not been handled regularly. Therefore, obtaining puppies that have been reared in a home environment with regular handling would be very beneficial. Socialization is the most important in the first 12 weeks of life. We recommend enrolling in a puppy class as early as possible so your new puppy will be exposed to other puppies and other people. This will greatly reduce any behavior issues later on in life.
