Max Powers is a six year old Dachshund mix diagnosed in December with Intervertebral Disc Disease. His symptoms started out with limitations in mobility, lethargy and pain. Very quickly, his symptoms deteriorated and he was unable to walk and was experiencing a significant amount of pain. Dr. Jacob quickly diagnosed him with IVDD after a radiograph showed narrowing space and increased opacity in his spinal cord. Max was put on pain medications, steroids, strict cage rest to help the muscles tighten, and a round of laser therapy.
Unfortunately, after starting the medications, Max showed no signs of improvement. A surgical procedure had been recommended and Dr. Jim took on the task of performing a Dorsal Laminectomy to help relieve the compression on his spine. Max’s procedure was performed on January 3rd. The following video was taken January, 10th, just one week after his surgery.
Max’s owner just called today to say that he is walking on his own and is able to go outside to go potty and find his food in the kitchen. She still uses the sling for his safety, but he is recovering at a remarkable speed. From the diagnosis, treatment and surgical intervention, Max has been a little medical miracle for us and we are all so happy that he is doing so well. We think Max Powers is a pretty appropriate name for this remarkable little guy!
Great experience. Very kind staff, even tried to relax my Stella with chicken although she denied them. Will be my go to vet from now on.
One of the worst days ever is having to put down ur pet that you have loved and had for so long. It was time for our Jack to go but nobody ever wants to make that decision. Second guessing yourself is really hard. Is the time right? Am I doing the right thing? The group here at Tipp City clinic made it so much easier. They treated us amazing. They took us right in and didn’t make us wait. They gave us a room and gave us time to spend with Jack. They explained everything and we didn’t feel rushed even when it was time to close. They were amazing!!! One of the hardest decisions ever is saying goodbye to a loved one and I’m glad we chose to come here. We will cry many days in the future thinking about jack but knowing he isn’t going to suffer anymore is helpful and knowing he didn’t suffer today helps. Thank you for caring for us and jackson and all the kind words you gave us. We needed you today and you came through with shining colors. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!! RIP Jackson you were the most amazing dog and you will always be part of our family! I hope you get all the treats in the world, have no pain, and get endless belly rubs in heaven! We will always Love our Jackson!!!
Vets and staff are amazing. They care very deeply about every pet's health and wellbeing. You can tell they love their jobs. They take their time to explain every detail and go through as many options as possible and help you work with your budget when possible.
Tipp City Vet. is the BEST place. The staff is so helpful & caring. Charlie had to stay the night because he was so sick. They called with updates. & helped us feel he was in good hands. I recommend this place to EVERYBODY!
