Senior Pet Care

older
We have a genuine affection for our older pets. We understand that they have special needs as they age. The problem is that often people attribute a lack of energy, alertness, and mobility problems to aging, when sometimes these are disease processes that can be reversed. We are constantly finding treatable conditions in our older patients that respond very rapidly to medications or other treatment modalities.

Dental Needs

It is surprising the number of cats and dogs in whose mouths we find significant pathology that is causing unknown pain. Dental problems in pets commonly lead to heart conditions. This is because of the bacteria in their mouths coursing through the blood and infecting the heart valves. Preventive dental care is one of the most significant life extenders for our older pets! Did you know that older wild cats and wolves die more from dental disease more than any other cause?

K-laser

We have recently added K-laser to our treatment options. This is a totally non-invasive, non-painful way of helping eliminate both chronic and acute pain in pets. It is very affordable and our clients enjoy being right there with their pets to help with the treatment. The sessions average 6 minutes per site.

Regenerative Medicine

We use regenerative medicine for young and older pets. The use of stem cells in degenerative arthritis, tendon, and joint problems has been a great addition to our practice. All of our doctors are credentialed for using stem cells. We have seen the majority of our stem cell cases respond extremely well.

Your Pet’s Senior Profile

Often, our older population has hidden disease that can be helped if detected early. We recommend a senior profile. The senior profile includes lab work and x-rays to give our doctors a more complete picture of your friend’s condition.

We were extremely happy with our experience at Tipp City Veterinary Hospital. They were able to get us in on a Sunday, when our dog was very sick and needed to be seen that day. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. Dr. Ken was wonderful! He was gentle, but thorough when he examined our dog. He diagnosed the problem and patiently answered all our questions. His treatment was effective and our dog was feeling much better within 24 hours. We would definitely recommend Tipp City Veterinary Hospital.

Amazing Boarding facilities! Immaculately clean and odor free! They provided us with a tour prior to our first boarding so we could make an informed decision about who to trust with the care of our little guy. Everyone has had that one experience where they can't enjoy their vacation because they are worried if their pet is being taken care of properly! We now can actually enjoy our time away knowing that our little pup is very well taken care of! And they have a text line you can use for updates! They make you feel like your pet is just as important to them as they are. to you. Give them a try....you won't be sorry! If Barkley could talk, he would say... I'm a happy camper! Thank you mom and dad for bringing me here!
