Dr. JimDr. James Mathias Owner Veterinarian, Medical Director

Dr. Jim started the Tipp City Veterinary Hospital in 1980 and still loves being a vet. He has a focused interest in orthopedic surgery and working with birds and exotic pets. He and his wife, Jennie, are long-time residents of Tipp City. Outside of the office he enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking, reading and playing basketball. Dr. Jim is a 1978 graduate of the Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr.SusanDr. Susan Dextradeur Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Susan joined the practice in 1996. She has a special interest in small animal internal medicine and also enjoys soft-tissue surgery. She resides with her husband, Dave, in Piqua. Outside of work, she enjoys working with her horses, canine agility training and spending time with her family. Dr. Susan is a 1993 graduate of the Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine.

DrJacobDr. Jacob Mathias Owner Veterinarian

Dr. Jacob joined the practice after graduating veterinary school in 2007. He enjoys taking on challenging cases and has a focused interest in cardiology and soft-tissue surgery. He resides with his wife, Brit, in Tipp City. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, playing basketball and spending time with his family. Dr. Jacob is a 2007 graduate of the Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Kenneth Brunson Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Ken joined the practice in 2015 after practicing mixed (large and small) animal medicine in Indiana. Dr. Ken and his wife, Courtney, are originally from Piqua and are excited to return to the area. He has a special interest in feline medicine and ophthalmology. Outside of work, he enjoys running, hiking, reading, and cooking. Dr. Ken is a 2014 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Ben joined the practice in 2004. He resides in Tipp City with his dog, Claire, and cat, Oscar. In addition to his role at TCVH, Ben helps other veterinary hospitals and small businesses run more efficiently (Branchworth Consulting). Away from work, he enjoys traveling, reading, cycling and spending time with family and friends. Ben is a 2004 graduate of Miami University (B.Phil.) and 2014 graduate of Wright State University (MBA). Ben became CVPM certified through the VHMA in 2013. He is currently pursuing SPHR certification and CPA licensure.

Alyssia joined TCVH in 2003 as a Veterinary Assistant.  In 2009 she started in Inventory/Purchasing. In 2012 she also started in Accounts Payable. Alyssia is married and has two wonderful children, Warren and Vivianne. She lives in Ludlow Falls, has 2 cats, and 3 guinea fowl.  She loves: reading, archery, canoe/kayaking and cooking. Alyssia is a 2003 Graduate of Sinclair Community College with Associates in Architectural Technology.

Jenny joined the practice in 2005. She lives in Sidney with her husband Matt and two awesome kids, Alison and Logan. Jenny currently spend most of my time working on homework with her kids and enjoys going on walks and going to the park.. She has shih tzu’s and several cats who help to occupy her family’s time and provide them with lots of love.  “I enjoy being part of the Tipp City Veterinary Hospital family and feel that it is a privilege to be able to assist our clients and their wonderful fuzzy family members.”

Shannon joined the practice in 2012. Shannon has 8 years experience in the pet care industry. Prior to joining our team she was general manager of Pet Suites of Dayton. She originally started at their Cincinnati location, but transferred to Dayton in 2008 to launch their facility near the Dayton Mall. Her responsibilities in Dayton included managing a staff of 45, customer relations, marketing, strategic planning and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility. Shannon has a 3 year old son, 4 dogs, 1 cat, and multiple horses. She and her husband run a horse boarding and training facility.

Tanya joined the practice in 1998. She has a daughter, one dog, and 2 cats. Tanya is currently in school working on getting her Veterinary Technician degree.  She loves performing heart ultrasounds and placing IV catheters, and hopes to continuing working at Tipp City Veterinary Hospital for years to come.
