Tipp City Veterinary Hospital is now offering telemedicine (virtual visits) to our current patients (those physically examined by a TCVH doctor within the past 12 months) with an app called TeleVet! Instead of searching online for pet advice, talk directly to a doctor that knows your pet. With TeleVet, you can easily send virtual consultation requests to us. TeleVet allows you to schedule time directly with a doctor on your time from home; options include texting, video chats, or phone calls!
Telemedicine visits allow you to
From Jenny T.: I used the telehealth option for the first time and it was very convenient and very easy to use. I would highly recommend for anyone who has a pet with a basic need to use this service. I had my visit and got my pet’s prescription in only one day instead of waiting for an in-person appointment and no need to worry about social distancing.

Guide: Creating a Consult
We are bound by certain rules by the Ohio Veterinary Medical Licensing Board that may limit how we are able to help you in a specific instance. However, to help you, if your pet’s doctor determines an in person exam is needed, you will receive a credit towards the in person exam. Note: telemedicine appointments are never appropriate for emergencies.
Submitting card information helps for two reasons. For one, it helps secure and verify accounts (so there are no spam accounts). Secondly, it also helps secure a consultation. The fee listed is the maximum that we may charge, but the final cost will depend on the complexity and time associated with the case. All fees are less than a traditional in person exam and consultation. Certain consults are always free (see below).
Certain consults are always free, including post surgery incision checks, reviewing labwork or other diagnostic tests, video conferencing with a doctor during a curbside exam, and services covered by Health Assurance Plans. For these consultations, the fee will always be waived. Card information is still required to secure and verify accounts and to secure a consultation, but the card will not be charged.
At this time there is not a way to select a particular doctor in the TeleVet app. However, the doctors will sort and assign appointments by whomever is most familiar with the patient and case. If they are not available, rest assured that all doctors at TCVH have full access to your pet’s medical history.

Payment is required at the time services are rendered or when products are dispensed. In order to maintain our focus on patient care and customer service, and to keep costs as low as possible, we do not bill for services or offer in-house repayment plans.
We accept all major credit and debit cards, checks, and cash. We also offer a secure online payment gateway for telemedicine or curbside visits.
We know that you may be juggling many different financial responsibilities. We also know that providing high-quality veterinary care can be costly. We never want money to be an issue should your pet require treatment. To this end, we are able to provide flexible payment plans from several lenders:
* Full terms, conditions, and disclosures are available on each lender’s website
If you do not qualify for financing with one of our lender partners, we encourage you to reach out to family or friends that know you well. In order to maintain our focus on patient care and customer service, and to keep costs as low as possible, we do not bill for services and do not offer in-house repayment plans.
It’s our strong belief that lifelong pet insurance is an excellent way to limit the financial hardship that can be associated with unexpected pet care expenses. Pet insurance provides peace of mind in the event of accidents or illnesses – it relieves a significant amount of the stress so that you can focus on getting your pet back to their best health.
There are a wide variety of pet insurance providers available, and we encourage you to evaluate the available options. However, in our experience, Trupanion provides the best value for most pet owners. Unlike many other providers, they offer:
For exotic pets like rabbits, birds, and lizards, we recommend Nationwide Pet Insurance (They’re currently the only option for exotic pets, but they’re a good one!)
Any questions about your pet’s coverage should be directed to your pet’s insurance company. We cannot answer questions about your pet’s coverage or provide guarantees of coverage. This is one of the many reasons we like Trupanion, though – they make this process quick and simple. They can even provide answers based on treatment plans (estimates) before care is provided.
Pet insurance does not cover routine, wellness focused care. However, we have options available for that as well — wellness plans.
We believe that wellness care is the foundation for a happy, healthy pet. It also helps us enjoy the most time with our companions and minimize the risk and cost of serious illnesses.
For wellness care, we provide affordable monthly packages. These plans include everything to keep your pet in their best health: heartworm and flea and tick medications, laboratory tests, physical examinations, spay/neuter surgery, dental x-rays and dental cleaning, and vaccinations.
We know that pets at different ages require different care; our plans are tailored to the age of your pet, with options available for kittens/puppies, adults, and senior pets.
Wellness plans pair well with pet insurance to ensure that you have full coverage and the ability to budget your pet’s care!

Are You or Anyone You Have Been In Contact With Sick?
Please do not bring your pet in for any type of visit if you or anyone in your household are sick, if you have traveled recently (within the past 14 days) or if you suspect you have had exposure to someone who is sick (within the past 14 days). Please call us at 937-667-8489 to authorize a healthy friend, family member or other agent to bring your pet to their visit. Consider a telemedicine appointment instead.
Correctly worn masks are required at all times while on site. Masks cannot be removed while onsite. If you are unable to wear a mask, a curbside or telemedicine appointment will be utilized instead.

Summary of Procedural Changes – Lodging, Daycare, and Grooming Visits
Our new facility, the Tipp to Tail Pet Resort, is now open! Going forward, guests arriving for lodging, daycare, grooming, and training services should proceed to the new building (behind the hospital). We continue to offer curbside pick-up and drop-off for all visits, with direct access to our facility limited to guests answering several health screening questions and wearing a facial covering.

What if These Procedures Won’t Work for Your Pet?
If you have a situation where you are concerned these procedures are not feasible, please call us at 937-667-8489 first to discuss this so we can make a plan to take care of your pet in the safest way possible.
Important Policy Changes for Lodging, Daycare, and Grooming Visits
We have instituted new policies for pets visiting for lodging, daycare, and grooming services:
Limited Personal Belongings
Aside from food, treats, and medications, we ask that you not bring in personal belongings with your pet(s). We have ample in-house bedding to ensure that they are comfortable during their visit.
Avian and exotic pets are excluded from this policy. Please bring in whatever equipment and supplies are necessary for your pet to comfortably stay with us.
Mandatory Baths for Pets Associated with Confirmed COVID-19 Cases
There is a chance that we will need to lodge pets coming from households with confirmed COVID-19 exposure (ex. if a client requires extended medical treatment outside of their home). In these cases, the pet will be taken directly into our bathing room for a bath at the time of arrival. Following the bath, any surfaces touched by the pet will be thoroughly disinfected. Please do not personally bring your pet in for a visit if you or anyone in your household is sick. Please call us at 937-506-7610 to authorize a healthy friend, family member or other agent to bring your pet to their visit.
